Professional Experience
Alex Karas joined Winick Realty Group in 2016, where he focuses on both landlord and tenant representation in all five boroughs of New York City. Alex has extensive understanding of and experience in both residential and commercial real estate, having most recently served as Director of Retail Leasing at a reputable, Manhattan-based firm. Prior to that, Alex worked for Bond New York, where he completed record-setting deals in both sales and rentals, respectively.
Over the course of his career, Alex has helped many tenants and start-ups in the leasing of their first New York locations, including SUM, the highly-anticipated, modern Cantonese restaurant started by well-known chef Ben Pope. He has helped secure retail locations for cold-pressed juice pioneer Liquiteria, as well as such clients as Modo Yoga, Hedgehouse, Aequor Health Staffing, The Turntable Lab, Sur Empanada, TS Fitness, Paul Fox Salon, Authentic Realty, Snowdays, and Wineshop, among others. Alex participates in all aspects of the deal making process—everything from identifying and touring spaces to negotiating lease terms—and through it all, has developed a reputation for honesty, integrity and industry know-how that has earned him the trust and respect of tenants and landlords alike. A native of Washington DC, Alex earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in Writing from Ithaca College, as well as a Master’s Degree in Literature from NYU.
